Student Testimonials about the Lab

Meghan Nagia

Data Research Intern

CAIDS has been a valuable addition to my Tulane experience as it’s given me the opportunity to foster strong connections with students and faculty and develop data-related skills in a collaborative, inclusive environment. By being a member of CAIDS, I’m able to contribute to meaningful social science/digital humanities projects and to be part of an interdisciplinary feminist-minded community.

Lily Markus

Peer Mentor

Being a peer mentor has taught me to be flexible, think on my feet, and embrace diversity even further. It has challenged me to continue growing and learning about data, equity, and pedagogy. This role has brought light to the importance of valuing different kinds of intelligence and knowledge.

My experience has been so empowering. I feel much more confident discussing data-related topics, analyzing data, and creating data visualizations. I appreciate the hands-on work that I have been assigned and genuinely feel that I have made a positive impact on campus that contributes to a broader knowledge of data science across all majors. I have greatly enjoyed the work that CAIDS produces, creating innovative work with my team, and the mentorship of CAIDS faculty.

Liam Guest

Data Research Intern

I could not imagine the last year without my experience as a member of the DRI, and in a larger sense, CAIDS. My experience as a Data Research Internship has played a pivotal role in the formation of both soft and hard skills that have prepared me to be successful in the professional world when I graduate.
